This car is sold
restored condition!
In total, around 61% of the Karmann Ghia sports coupes produced were sold to the USA. Just like this black Type 14, which was restored in the USA and came to its current owner in Germany in 2016. Since the restoration, the sports coupé has had the engine from the 1500 vehicles with 32 kw and thus ensures sufficient acceleration. The car was registered with an H licence plate in 2020 and had an odometer reading of approx. 114,000 km at the time. To date, the vehicle has only travelled approx. 4000 km and is in fantastic condition. The engine runs almost perfectly and gives the impression that it was installed in the vehicle just a few weeks ago in Osnabrück.
A total of 443,466 examples of the vehicle were built in the production period from 1955 to 1974, of which only around 80,881 convertibles were produced. Technically, the Type 14 was largely based on the extremely successful and popular VW Beetle. The Type 14 is always equipped with a 4-cylinder boxer engine and has a displacement of between 1,192 and 1,584 cm³, depending on the variant. Depending on the year of manufacture and the equipment, the car has an output of between 30 and 54 hp. The top speed of the Type 14 with a displacement of 1,584 cm³ litres is 140 km/h. The Karmann-Ghia Type 14 is the little brother of the Karmann-Ghia Type 34, which is known as the "big Karmann".
