Description

This magnificent hardtop coupe is new to our inventory and it only has a phenomenal 23,500 miles on the odometer. The condition of this Toronado is fantastic and it can't be compared to any other example of this model. Everything is just right and the condition corresponds to a yearly car which was always spared. The vehicle was ordered on January 06, 1971 in the city of Jackson (Tennessee) by Mrs. Louise Ross, who was born on August 31, 1926, at the official Oldsmobile dealer "Jim Miles INC". The entire interior including the seats appear absolutely unworn and not damaged anywhere. The original paint is on the sheet metal. Some of the installed equipment exceeds even that of modern vehicles and everything works. Mrs. Ross passed away in October 2011 at the age of 85 in her hometown of Jackson and the vehicle subsequently passed to the heirs, who sold it to Germany at the end of 2015. On April 26, 2016, the Toronado was registered in North Rhine-Westphalia.

We have the original new car order and the later issued invoice from January 1971. Furthermore, the very well preserved vehicle description and a personal letter from the manager of the Oldsmobile Division, addressed to the buyer, are still available.

The most expensive versions of the respective model series at that time (also those of other manufacturers) were marked with the suffix Brougham or Town Brougham, like this one. Whoever could afford such a vehicle was treated like a celebrity when buying it. This example is an absolutely original jewel and if you want to experience what it must have been like to drive such a vehicle when it was new, you just have to get in here. It is just a living room on wheels and it drives fantastic. Bumps on the road are skillfully absorbed and thanks to the big engine there is still enough torque available even at higher speeds to push the passengers entertainingly into the seat. In typical U.S. fashion, the "Toronado" model offers the usual luxurious comfort and plenty of interior space. The electronic seat adjustment is not only possible forwards and backwards but can be adjusted in all directions.
