The MG MGA was presented at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 1955. The car was also available as a coupé, but was mainly produced as a roadster. A total of 9,887 coupés and 91,194 roadsters were produced, of which there are various model variants. The previous model, the MG TF, delivered poor sales figures towards the end of its production run, so that a completely new start was heralded with a modified design and the same technical basis. The MGA now enjoyed international success. The new MGA used the same engine that had already been used in the MG Magnette. The power of the four-cylinder in-line engine is transmitted to the rear wheels via the manual four-speed gearbox. Furthermore, the driver has more space compared to the TF, which makes the driving experience more pleasant.
This black roadster is an MGA 1500 with the four-cylinder in-line engine. The matching roof is beige and is naturally included with the purchase. The current owner acquired the vehicle in 2013 and only moved it when the weather was nice. Since 2015, the vehicle has hardly been moved and has spent most of its time dry and protected in a garage. After this long period of storage, the spark plugs, fuel pump, fuel filter and all oils were replaced and renewed by our workshop. We have old letters, invoices, old MOT reports and other documents relating to the vehicle and these can be viewed with the car in our showroom. Before the car is delivered to a buyer, the MG is given a new MOT and is then fully operational again.
