Description

If the colour combination red/beige of an R107 SL doesn't make you think of the successful TV series "Dallas", you should dig out your old video recorder. But those who immediately thought of the name "Bobby Ewing" will smile as soon as they read the next sentence. This 500 SL was brought to the Mercedes dealership "Ewing" in the city of Dallas several times for regular servicing by its then first owner in Texas. The matching original invoices are, of course, enclosed with the documents. This coincidence alone is a highlight of this vehicle. The vehicle was in its first ownership until 2003 and then changed hands again within the USA in 2005. The current owner, Mr. E., acquired the Mercedes in the summer of 2017 with around 31,000 original miles on the speedometer and made a list from all the records, invoices and documents, from which one can understand the entire history of the vehicle well sorted at a glance. The current owner had an appraisal carried out in 2017 and 2020. Both times, the SL was graded with a 2. The vehicle comes with a hardtop in the same colour as the car. The 500 SL and the hardtop can be viewed in our showroom in Düsseldorf.

Conclusion

An elegant classic in what I consider to be the most beautiful colour combination for the R107 SL. Besides the very amusing history from the USA, the car also has an excellent overall condition. All work and repairs are listed and leave no questions unanswered.
