With only 15.400 km!
This 1984 limousine stands in a sensationally good condition and one is almost tempted to use the phrase “new car”. Mr Anton Kathrein Junior, shareholder and manager of the Rosenheim antenna specialists “KATHREIN WERKE KG” bought the Jaguar early in the year 1984 and registered it to his business on June 22nd, 1984. In 1989 the vehicle was de-registered and was from then on kept, along with other vehicles, in the family’s private collection up until 2015. The vehicle remained in the possession of the company the whole time and was only registered anew to the business on August 26th, 2015, this time with a H-type licence plate. Between 1984 and 1989 the limousine was only driven about 10,000 km. During this time the vehicle received three official inspections by Jaguar, all three of which are noted down in the original service book. In 2015, the widow of the manager - who had passed away in 2012 - privately bought the vehicle from the company and registered it to herself. The old registration certificate, as well as all available manuals for the vehicle, remain on hand. The fact that we have here an almost flawless specimen, boasting a mileage of only 13,400 km, greatly highlights and distinguishes it on today’s market. The engine activates immediately and one instantly notices how barely driven this vehicle feels. Everything works, nothing rattles, nothing wheezes, and even the sound of wind isn’t any louder than in a more modern vehicle. Since 1989 neither rain nor salt nor UV rays could do harm to this car, and aside from a couple meaningless, almost unnoticeable road metal we found no damages at all to the varnish. Even the trim strips appear as on day one. A detail worth mentioning is the air conditioning unit, upgraded to current climate gas standard and working faultlessly. The limousine’s interior appears completely untouched and tidy. The dashboard is as clean as every single seat and we believe that the backseats were only sampled once on the day of purchase. Vehicles in such a remarkable condition usually come straight off the restoration line, but this here exemplar remains authentic without exception and still retains its soul. The seatbelts, which are branded with the production stamps of 1984, still feature even their stock yard number of their respective assembly line.
The Jaguar V12 limousine is better than its reputation. There’s hardly car that runs as quietly and cushions as smoothly as this here limousine. Additionally the Jaguar feels more agile than one might assume about a large limousine of that age. The bogeymen hollering about high maintenance costs are - in our opinion - grudges too cowardly to purchase such a vehicle. Aside from our own in-house technics department, there are many other specialists who know enough cost-effective knacks and tricks in order to fix apparent problems quickly and professionally. The spare parts situation is terrific and thanks to several providers, parts are cheaper than expected.
