Very well documented and in great condition!
The first owner was a German of Jewish descent by the name of Stein, who had bought the car from the BMW dealer in Cologne on February 14, 1940. For understandable reasons, he emigrated to Illinois/USA in the spring. Mr. Stein kept the car for about 10 years and then sold it to an American of German descent in the state of Oklahoma. Due to a lack of spare parts, the BMW was not used from 1978 onwards. The resulting damage meant that it could no longer be driven and so the BMW was sold to an interested party in Düsseldorf/Germany in 1989. The 327 was then completely restored and rebuilt over a period of 5 years. In the course of the restoration, the engine was replaced with an identical engine from the 326 series and overhauled. The electronics were also brought up to the state of the art at the time. It was not until 1995 that the vehicle was registered and driven by the then owner. In spring 2008, the 327 changed hands for the last time. The BMW is excellently documented. The entire history was written down from the perspective of the 3rd owner, all invoices, documents and records are available as well as photos of the restoration and several expert reports.
