The body of the Austin-Healey 3000 was designed by Gerry Coker in 1952 and corresponds to the classic British roadster look. Austin-Healey fans appreciate the clear proportions and simplicity of the 3000. Production of the sports roadster was discontinued in 1967. One of the reasons for this was the stricter US emission standards, which made it more difficult to sell the car there. Instead, BMC produced the Triumph TR5.
The Austin Healey on offer here was extensively restored between 1994 and 1996 and has been driven by the current owner ever since. Over the years, all necessary work has always been carried out and completed. In the fall of 2015, the entire engine was dismantled due to engine damage and all wearing parts were replaced or renewed. At the same time, the gearbox, brake system and other technical parts were replaced or overhauled. The rebuilding of the engine was well documented with the help of pictures. A well-filled file folder with various documents, invoices and expert reports documents the history since the purchase in 1996.
