Italian classic sports car with few kilometers!
The idea of offering a two-door Spider based on the Giulietta came from US importer Max Hoffman. He saw great potential for such a vehicle, especially in the sunny climes of Florida and California. Initially, a 1.3-liter four-cylinder engine with 59 kW/80 hp worked under the front hood. This output was sufficient to achieve a top speed of 165 km/h. After all, the Giulietta Spider weighed only 880 kilograms. After a short time, Alfa Romeo also offered the Veloce version with 66 kW/90 hp. With it, up to 180 km/h were feasible. Accordingly, not only sun-hungry boulevard cruisers were interested in the little Italian. Some vehicles were also used in motor sports. But the drum brakes all around and the rigid rear axle quickly put an end to all too great ambitions. However, to give this Giulietta a bit more propulsion, the last owner swapped the standard engine for the 1,600 cc engine from the Alfa 105 series.
An Italian lightweight with a bit more power. Nevertheless, this Giulietta remains true to style and unmistakable in its driving dynamics.
