Giulia's big sister
From 1968 to 1977, Alfa Romeo built a larger version of the Giulia, the Berlina, with engines of 1.8 and 2 liters. As a sporty sedan with comfort aspirations, the powerful four-door was aimed at a discerning clientele, which took delivery of over 190,000 units. Nevertheless, the classic architecture of engine and transmission at the front and drive axle at the rear died with the Berlina and Giulia at the end of the seventies.
This 2000 Berlina is hardly inferior to modern cars. All in all, suitable for everyday use, comfortable and still fast. A great car. The 2000 Berlina is generally known for its very safe and quiet driving experience. These qualities are felt by every passenger. Hardly any other model from that time drives as elegant and sporty at the same time as a 2000 Berlina. The engine is powerful and, thanks to a five-bearing crankshaft, absolutely vibration-free even at high engine speeds. Alfa Romeo engines from these years of manufacture only experience heat problems if they are not handled properly. Properly treated, Alfa Romeo engines quickly release the heat generated by operation, because the engine block, the cylinder head as well as the oil pan are not made of gray cast iron, but of a light alloy and the cylinder liners are washed around by the cooling water. Prefer this vehicle to any supposedly private bargain and take the opportunity of a personal inspection for comparison!
As if the Giulia had come of age in this car. Less playful, a little more serious, bigger and more powerful, the Alfa Romeo Berlina 2000 is the dignified option in the 105 series
